Casa Hogar Girls is an exciting project slated for construction in 2017.
In late 2014, a 37,000 sq. ft. lot next to boys’ property was purchased thanks to donations from Nancy & Richard Rogers, the Draney Family and an anonymous donor. In 2015 and 2016 at our Gala Fundraiser events, Jack & Michele LaField made two significant contributions to the building fund. Casa Hogar is now in a financial position to start and finish the first phase of the building project.
To design the home, Casa Hogar partnered with the Architectural program of a local university, ITES. Seven students in their final semester were challenged to design the new girls’ home. The winning project was selected and submitted June 30th, 2016.
The intended design includes 4 medium-size dormitories for girls ranging from 4 to 18 years old. Common areas such as dining hall, library, classrooms and recreational areas will be shared between boys and girls.
The new building will facilitate the desire to reunite male and female siblings. Currently the boys of Casa Hogar see their sisters only once a month.
