Longtime supporters of Casa Hogar, the Peterson Family, recently donated an iPad for, a special-needs teen, new to Casa Hogar. This young man has been blind since birth. He arrived with limited resources to assist him in his daily life, however he is adapting well to his new home and school. iPads have many useful aps for special needs kids including audio word processing playback and audio learning tutorials and games. https://www.apple.com/accessibility/ipad/vision/ The Peterson Family also donated several games and touch stimulators including braille playing cards and braille Uno.
This teen is a joy to be around. He maintains a positive outlook on life, embraces social contact with the kids and staff of Casa Hogar and loves to talk! He has a keen ear, recognizing voices and sounds with precision and is drawn to music. He recently was invited by Cabo Dolphins to have a Dolphin Encounter which he relished.
iPad Donation Campaign: Please consider donating a new or second-hand iPad to Casa Hogar. We hope to collect several iPads to create a digital classroom space for online learning and fun.
