Will You Consider Being a Funding Angel for Casa Hogar in 2021?
The children and teen residents of Casa Hogar are so very fortunate to be on the minds and hearts of an incredible community of generous donors.
The annual Gala Fundraiser event, hosted by Ed & Pat Peterson has been successful for many years generally raising in the area of 70% of our annual operating budget.
In light of potential health risks with group gatherings and to be in compliance with requirements from government authorities we are not presently planning to host the event this year.
This year’s operating budget has been established at just under $509,000 USD.
There are several categories of expenditures required to operate Casa Hogar with a high level of quality and care. Below is a simple summary.
UTILITIES & HOME/BUSINESS SERVICES
MAINTENANCE & IMPROVEMENTS
ACADEMIC, TRAINING, EXTRACURRICULAR
STAFF & PAYROLL TAXES
Currently Casa Hogar operates with 28 full time staff members each working 6-days/week. We provide all our employees with the full legal benefits entitled by law.
While our employees’ salaries are modest, they are competitive for Los Cabos. By law we are required to operate with 1 Caregiver onsite for every 8 residents. This is an around-the-clock requirement and a necessity. Our Caregivers are our front line staff members leading our residents through their daily activities and filling in for the crucial role of parenting. They are also very much involved in academic tutoring, emotional care, cleaning and guidance. Truly our Caregivers are the heroes of our home.
NUMBER OF STAFF
As Casa Hogar received no government funding, donations are sought out from families and businesses. With the ability to issue tax-deductible receipts in the United States, Canada and Mexico, donating to Casa Hogar is a trusted giving opportunity. Most of our donors are from the United States with a growing amount of Canadian and Mexican donors.
To start the year, the Jonathon D. Fischer Foundation made a generous contribution to fund groceries. The Chileno Bay Foundation, through one of their members, made an important donation towards our Emotional Wellbeing program. The Peterson family and the Leathers family have each pledged $15,000 USD towards operating the home in 2021.
We also seek out grant opportunities. This year Casa Hogar will benefit from charitable grants from Los Cabos Children’s Foundation, Herbalife Nutrition Foundation, Dibujando Un Mañana and Fundacion Soriana.
Invitation to Contribute
At this time, we have approximately 45% of our annual fundraising goal in place.
Please consider joining this effort to ensure Casa Hogar can continue it’s valuable work throughout 2021.
